The year 2022 has gone by and I am pleased to say it was characterized by accomplished activities in support of the government’s agenda for the Civil Service. The Director General’s outreach program to Civil Servants in the districts and the nation-wide consultation on the review of the Civil Service Code, Regulation and Rules are few examples of our achievements. Despite the significant gains made in 2022, some of our activities remain unaccomplished. Therefore, 2023 is crucial for our targeted objectives and goals as it ushers in a democratic political era for the general elections that may impact on our activities nationwide. However, every year comes with a glimmer of hope and optimism and as the central personnel agency of the Sierra Leone Government charged with the responsibility of providing human resource policies, advisory services and managing the Civil Service workforce, we have a shared vision to transform the Sierra Leone Civil Service and to uphold HRMO as a reputable, efficient, and responsive institution that drives the Civil Service. We continue to build and foster an excellent professional working environment with provision of quality Human Resource services across MDAs. During the period under review, lessons learnt serve as the cornerstone for our possibilities to strengthen our outreach programs and in providing support to the Leadership of the Civil Service. While some of our activities remain unaccomplished, in 2023 there will be renewed efforts and ways to surmount these challenges which give us a reason to be hopeful for a better and brighter future. I feel privileged to have a great, self-motivated and dedicated team to work with and let me use this opportunity to thank you all for being a strong source of my strength in helping to manage the Civil Service workforce. On behalf of the HRMO, I wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous 2023. Ansu S. Tucker Director General, HRMO
