As part of the implementation strategy to popularize the revised Civil Service Code and Rules, the Director-General of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), Mr. Ansu Samuel Tucker (Jr) has enlighted members of the Fourth Estate on the recently approved revised Civil Service Code and Rules, in what could be described as a fruitful initiative meant to help members of the print and electronoc media houses be abresat with the provisions of this all-important Civil Service Code of Conduct. In an atmosphere characterised by rapt attention, unabated anticipation and decorum, the DG, through a power point presentation provided his audience with comprehensive highlights of the process leading to the review and the provisions in the revised Civil Service Code and Rules, with specific focus on the completely new as well as hybrid chapters such as Gender Mainstreaming, disability issues, Provincial Administrtaion, Work Ethics, Conflict of Interest and Whistleblowing, among others. The Director-General was on the podium with the HRMO Gender Focal Person, Mrs Deema J. Kpalayieh, Deputy Director of Recruitment in HRMO, whose role was to shed light on the chapter relating to Gender Mainstreaming and the benefits serving female Civil Servants in particular stand to realise from its provisions. On the podium also was the Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Mr Amara Kallon, who dilated on the ongoing reforms across the Public Secvice, including plans to establish what he called ‘’Government of Sierra Leone HR Hub’’ meant to digitize the HR opertaions of the Public Service. This significant milestone media engagement took place on Tuesday 11th March, 2025 during a well-attended Weekly Press Conference organised by the Ministry of Information and Civil Education, moderated by its Deputy Minister, Mr. Bockarie Bawoh, in one of the halls at the Miatta Conference Centre, Youyi Building, Brookfields in Freetown. The press briefing was climaxed by a question and answer session which provided members of the Fourth Estate the opportunity to quiz the various speakers on the podium to elicit further details and clarifications from them.
